Heat Vibes
With the 2020 Midol rebrand having set the ground work for redefining the brand as an expert in period care, the design team was approached again to help Midol expand into holistic care with a drug-free pain management option.
Being a part of the design team during the early conceptual stages of the Midol rebrand was an exciting exercise in design in women’s health, and I was thrilled to join the team once again to work on Heat Vibes.
The team worked to leverage the Midol M pack design system architecture, while also creating a design that made it obvious that this was a distinctly different offering from the rest of the portfolio.
I worked on packaging for this product, designing a distinct heat map pattern for the outer pack using bold, warm colors to evoke a feeling of efficacy with targeted heat therapy.
Heat Vibes also required an icon system to demonstrate how to use the product. I took the existing visual strategy for Midol iconography and expanded it into this series of instructional icons.
Using variations of the heat map gradient—as well as bringing the color palette into Heat Vibes photography—brings feelings of warmth into the off-pack world.
